Mumbai, 30 September 2019: SIAM is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Rajesh Menon as Director General of SIAM. He succeeds Mr Vishnu Mathur who is superannuating after a successful stint with SIAM.
Mr Rajesh Menon is presently the Director General Designate at SIAM. He is a Post Graduate in Physics from the University of Delhi.
He was earlier the Deputy Director General at the Confederation of Indian Industry based at its headquarters in New Delhi. Mr Menon joined CII in 1994. He has led many CII’s initiatives in his 25 years of service. Trade Policy, Bilateral & Multilateral engagements, two way investment and Trade, facilitating the Indian industry to expand its global footprint through a range of specialised services were some of the specific priorities of his work for CII as Head of CII’s International work. Energy and Infrastructure also has been a key portfolio that was led by him. He has also headed CII’s Regional operations at North and South, prior to which he led a few State offices of CII also.
Mr Rajan Wadhera, President, SIAM and President (Automotive Sector), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said, “We are pleased to have Rajesh join SIAM as the Director General. I am sure that Rajesh will be able to provide the leadership to SIAM that will help the industry achieve its objective of Growth with Responsibility. Mr Vishnu Mathur had joined SIAM in 2010 from ACMA and at SIAM he played a significant role in formulating the Automotive Mission Plan (AMP) 2026 and the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP).
Mr Wadhera added, “Vishnu during his tenure with SIAM has helped to build a very strong secretariat for this automotive industry body and has worked tirelessly to bring all the stake holders aligned to a common cause of the growth of the industry. We wish him a healthy and successful life post his superannuation.”
